The Barn

The barn is a happy place. The animals are always eager to see you, to be fed, watered, petted, talked to.... The work, I enjoy. Yes, just like a household, nothing stays clean and mouths keep needing to be fed, but there's satisfaction in the work. The smell of fresh straw or pine bedding in a cleaned out pen, the sound of chomping as calves munch on corn or hay, the delight of finding a nesting box full of eggs in every shade of brown, kittens running and pouncing on piles of hay. Everyone needs a "barn" in their life.....a place to go where the heart feels contentment and happiness.
